We are a start-up non-profit. Our mission is to save as many lives as possible, as quickly as possible from opiate-related overdose. The logical first step is getting the intervention that works fastest to the population most at risk of death. This means getting naloxone* to opioid-dependent individuals through the organizations they regularly use. OCRF raises money, and grants it out to the naloxone distribution programs that will save the most lives with incremental funding.
Incredibly, the naloxone distribution programs on the front lines of the opioid crisis are run by local community activists...not by public health departments, law enforcement, or any other government agency. Most of these activists started their programs because they lost a loved one to overdose, or they are in recovery themselves. Prior to OCRF, these unsung heroes were saving lives in their communities through money raised from yard sales, or Facebook fundraisers...or from out of their own pockets.
Here's who we're supporting, so far. By any conservative estimate, OCRF's initial round of funding to these organizations will save thousands of lives. With money and support from you, we could find opportunities to save thousands more. Just $239 could save someone’s life, this week.
